All-Day Enrichment

Full-Day Structure with Creative and Real-World Impact

Overview

Evergreen Learning Pod’s most immersive option includes everything from the Core + Projects program, plus a long-term Impact Project designed to connect classroom learning to real-world problems.

Students spend the afternoon identifying an issue related to the quarterly theme, researching it, and creating a solution-oriented project that involves community action, advocacy, or education. These projects are designed to build leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking while helping students see themselves as change-makers.

Schedule

Tuesday–Friday
9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

What’s Included

At Evergreen, literacy instruction includes reading comprehension, guided reading, and structured writing workshops. Math instruction focuses on number sense, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding. Science and social studies are integrated into quarterly themes through hands-on experiments, research, and collaborative discussions. All instruction aligns with Oregon State Standards and is adapted to student interests.

  • All Core + Projects features (academic instruction, creative projects, guest speakers, and field trips)

  • Additional afternoon enrichment block focused on quarterly Impact Projects

  • Opportunities for civic engagement, service learning, or advocacy

  • Reflection routines to support goal-setting and leadership skills

  • Access to creative tools and collaboration time

  • Community partnerships (e.g., Fish and Game salmon tank, microscope exploration, and more)

The Impact Project

Students identify a meaningful issue, research it, and propose a solution. Projects may focus on environmental, social, cultural, or local topics. Students engage with real-world tools, connect with experts, and present their final projects to a public audience.

Progress Reporting

Families receive monthly progress reports aligned with Oregon homeschool documentation requirements. Reports highlight academic progress, project work, collaboration, and civic engagement skills.

Family Events

Each quarter concludes with a Family Learning Showcase, where students present both their creative project (also completed in Core + Projects) and their Impact Project. They share their process, discoveries, and personal reflections with families and guests.

The final showcase of the year includes a Student Advancement Ceremony to celebrate each learner’s growth and transition. All students participate in the ceremony, provided they have met the Oregon homeschool documentation requirements for the year.
